To Whom It May Concern:
Due to various statements I’ve heard over the years and recent questions I’ve been asked, I have decided to share a series of posts over the next several weeks on the biblical ceremonies and festivals. Must we keep the Old Testament annual festivals or not? I have met many individuals—from both sides of the debate—who are deeply confused about these subjects. I pray that you will be kind as I share my conclusions. While I reserve the right to change my mind based on better evidence, I think that sharing my scriptural studies will provide clarity on the subject as I see it and resolve any curiosity or misunderstandings about my positions.
I will share these posts for the following reasons:
- To foster awareness about my position on the subject in the hope that my studies of the Scriptures may help those with lingering questions.
- To prompt healthy discussion about the festivals, especially regarding how we relate to Jewish people and how we can understand the Mosaic law apart from a dispensational or replacement theology.
- To share the valuable lessons that can be gleaned from the festivals and help others navigate the confusion surrounding the Old Testament ceremonies and feasts so they can truly celebrate God’s goodness.
