Daniel’s predictions about each kingdom represented by a metal in the statue came true with unfailing accuracy, but Daniel chapter 2 tells us that more important than having futuristic predictions is knowing what God’s character is like.
There have always been only two motives—love and hate—and only two journeys that proceed from them.
When Daniel was in Babylon, he prayed facing the direction of the Temple site where God’s name was placed. Likewise, we need to always keep the character of God in view when we are in Babylon. God’s presence, character, and reputation are what matter most.
Why would God so fully detest a form of Christianity that He would call it a whore, a drunk, and a wrathful brawler? Why would God rejoice over its demise?
