My Sanctuary Journey
By design, the sanctuary is an experiential journey of ascent into the presence of God (Psalms 77:13; 122:1–2). Its increasing levels of holiness carry a profound spiritual lesson about making our way to God.

We may see ourselves as weary wanderers who long for the divine in an arid and uncertain land, yet we rarely imagine God as a weary wanderer longing for communion.
God’s love delights in creativity and improvisation. Might this perspective help us engage with our modern culture? Veering from God’s singular path to bless the world is fraught with danger, not only for the cynical secularist but also for those of us resistant to change who believe in keeping God in a neat, static package.
Though we find ourselves in a world far from perfect, the lessons of the garments of the high priest offer a glimpse of the glory and beauty in which God intends to clothe humanity. While these fine and costly materials fall far short of the glory and beauty that is coming, when we understand the significance of these special garments, we begin to catch sight of the grandeur that awaits us.
Are we attentive to earthly needs and sharing the fragrant message about God’s love? Are we emitting a wonderfully soothing and life-saving odor, or has our scent become offensive and foul?
God truly desires to be with us. I want my heart to be won by the love of God, who is always for me and whose heart pulsates with desire for me.
Seeing the universe as God desires it allows me to see the person I am really meant to be.
God wants our hearts and is out to win them. His passionate pursuit and sacred romantic overture are wonderful and mysteriously captivating. He woos us like a bride with His love song and charms us with His beauty.
Just as the last Sanctuary compartment was filled with the radiant presence of God, the innermost chamber behind the veil anticipates a glorious world to come, which in theological terms, will be shaped just like the most holy place
God desires to dwell with us and tries to draw us back to Him, though because we are faulty sinners, this is not easy.
